Whistler Olympic Park (WOP), located in the beautiful Callaghan Valley just south of Whistler, is a world-class Nordic venue and legacy site from the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. During the winter season, WOP welcomes thousands of athletes, visitors and recreational guests who rely on safe access to the venue every day.
We are currently hiring a Snow Clearing Operator to join our team. This role is responsible for maintaining roads, parking lots and access areas using heavy equipment and plow trucks, helping ensure the park remains safe and accessible throughout the winter. Please note that reliable transportation is required to successfully work at Whistler Olympic Park. Our beautiful location is not serviced by public transit.
Job Overview
Position: Snow Clearing Operator
Department: Whistler Olympic Park
Status: Seasonal, Full-Time
Housing: Affordable staff housing available for Full-Time employees
Schedule: Flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays
Location: Whistler, BC
Wage: $26.00 per hour
Start Date: November 4th, 2026
What You'll Do
- Operate heavy equipment and plow trucks to clear roads and parking lots throughout Whistler Olympic Park
- Perform daily equipment inspections and maintain accurate machinery records
- Assist with routine maintenance and minor repairs of snow clearing equipment
- Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure safe and efficient park operations
- Support and collaborate with volunteers working within the department
- Deliver exceptional service while carrying out Whistler Sport Legacies' customer service philosophy: AIM – All Interactions Matter
- Assist the team with other duties as assigned
What You Bring
- 1–3 years of experience operating heavy snow clearing equipment
- Valid BC Driver's Licence with Air Brake Endorsement
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to identify basic equipment issues
- Knowledge of radio communication protocols
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Willingness to assist other departments as needed
- Commitment to safe work practices and excellent customer service
- Reliable winter transportation (Whistler Olympic Park is not serviced by public transit)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in winter weather conditions
- Ability to stand for extended periods while performing physically demanding work
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs
