Whistler Olympic Park (WOP) is a world-class Nordic sport and recreation venue located in the beautiful Callaghan Valley, just south of Whistler. Home to Olympic legacy facilities, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, biathlon and a variety of recreational programs, WOP welcomes athletes, families, school groups and outdoor enthusiasts throughout the winter season.
We are currently hiring a Rental Services Technician to join our Guest Services team. This hands-on role combines ski rental expertise, equipment preparation and maintenance with exceptional guest service. You’ll help guests find the right equipment for their day, prepare and maintain our rental fleet, and support the day-to-day operation of our rental and retail areas. Please note that reliable transportation is required to successfully work at Whistler Olympic Park. Our beautiful location is not serviced by public transit.

Wage: $23.00 per hour

What You’ll Do
- Help guests select and fit the right rental equipment for their needs, ensuring safe use and a great experience on the trails.
- Bind, wax and prepare skis for guest use.
- Prepare, maintain and organize WOP’s rental equipment throughout the season.
- Efficiently distribute and receive rental equipment.
- Maintain appropriate rental and retail inventory and support ski service operations.
- Stay up to date on Nordic equipment, products and trends and share that knowledge with guests.
- Develop strong knowledge of WOP products and services, including rentals, retail, day tickets, season passes and instructional programs.
- Process rental, retail, ticket and program transactions using the point-of-sale system.
- Assist with bookings and provide guests with accurate information about lessons, rentals, tours and activities.
- Respond to guest questions or concerns with empathy and a focus on finding solutions.
- Assist with cash handling, end-of-shift reconciliation and POS reporting as required.
- Work closely with Sport School, Guest Services and other venue teams to support daily operations.
- Assist with special events, instructional programs and operational requirements such as snow clearing when needed.
- Help maintain Guest Services areas, equipment, displays and current snow, trail and avalanche information.

What You Bring
- Working knowledge of a ski rental department and ski equipment.
- Previous customer service experience is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
- Accurate cash handling and reconciliation experience with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Confidence interacting with guests and helping them select appropriate products and equipment.
- Computer skills; experience with scheduling and booking software is preferred.
- POS system experience is an asset.
- Previous retail and merchandising experience is an asset.
- Knowledge and appreciation of cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, biathlon, ski jumping or sport and recreation operations is preferred.
- Familiarity with Whistler and the surrounding area is an asset.
- A positive, adaptable approach and willingness to support other areas of the operation when needed.
- A Class 4 Unrestricted Driver’s License is required if transporting guests using a WSL vehicle.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in variable winter weather conditions.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
- Reliable winter transportation is required, as Whistler Olympic Park is not serviced by public transit.
