Whistler Olympic Park is a world-class destination for outdoor recreation activities and Nordic sports, located just south of Whistler in the stunning Callaghan Valley. Established for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, the Park’s incredible facilities are now enjoyed by both high-performance athletes and recreational guests alike.
Nordic Ski Patrol ensures the safety of Whistler Olympic Park (WOP) users and responds to all first aid requirements in a professional and timely manner.
$23/hr start wage
Winter season 2023/2024 commencing November for Casual or Temporary Full Time seasonal roles requiring ability to work weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities
- Work with and under the direction of the Lead, Patrol and/or the Supervisor, Patrol and other Pro and Volunteer Patrollers
- Provide first aid to public, athletes, and colleagues while adhering to safe operating procedures and protocols
- Ensure public safety at WOP
- Maintain all records of weather, accidents, occurrences, and actions
- Maintain signage and fencing
- Build and maintain Snowshoe trails
- Adhere to WorkSafeBC, Technical Safety BC and applicable governing agency’s safety regulations
- Assist with colleague and volunteer training
- Operate all equipment in a safe and responsible manner while adhering to operating procedures and protocol
- Liaise with Guest Service department ensuring trail conditions and other information relating to the customer experience is communicated
- Interact with volunteers to ensure their inclusion in department team
- Carry out Whistler Sport Legacies’ AIM philosophy: All Interactions Matter
- Assist the team with other duties as assigned or required
Position Requirements
Education/Experience
- 1-3 years of experience as a pro patroller
- Minimum Provincial 80 HR First Certification required
- First Aid OFA Level 3 preferred
- Experience operating snowmobiles preferred
- Knowledge of radio protocol preferred
- Avalanche Skills Training Level 1, Operations Level 1 preferred
- High ropes certification or experience with ropes an asset
- Satisfactory criminal record check is mandatory prior to commencement of employment
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License and abstract required

Physical Requirements
- Reliable winter transportation (WOP is not serviced by transit)
- Ability to work outdoors in variable weather winter conditions performing physically demanding tasks
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to regularly lift 50lbs
