Whistler Sport Legacies is a not-for-profit organization responsible for the operation of the 2010 Olympic legacy facilities Whistler Sliding Centre, Whistler Olympic Park and the Whistler Athletes’ Centre. True to its dedication to grow sport assisting the vision to achieve a vibrant healthy sport community, the organization fosters public participation in sports, and maintains world-class training and competition facilities for athletes.
The Finance Department is part of WSL’s administration team which works closely with all divisions to assist in delivering objectives set out in our Strategic Plan. Among their many responsibilities, they assist to ensure the foundation of our organization is set up and operating in a legal, ethical, and efficient manner that is in alignment with our core values and our organizational governance.
Administrative departments, such as Finance, play an important role for our venues - cooperation, trust, and communication are integral. Teamwork and understanding are essential to this department as they assist to build mutual trust and respect internally and externally.
Manager, Accounting is responsible for accounts receivable invoicing, collections and balance sheet reconciliations. Role supports Managing Director in the daily operations of the Finance Department including overseeing revenue audit, accounts payable, payroll, and analytical reporting for Whistler Sport Legacies. Regular Salary Full Time position requires flexibility, at WSL’s request, to work a statutory holiday, weekend or evening.
Wage: $75,000 per year - negotiable based on relevant experience

Responsibilities
- Support the Managing Director in the management of daily departmental operations, including the coordination and communication of key issues as directed:
- payroll and benefits
- accounts payable
- revenue audit
- Train and supervise other departmental roles when required relating to the above
- Carry out Accounts Receivable invoicing and collections
- Support all WSL venue sales and reconciliations, while ensuring cash controls
- Oversee the daily verification and posting of POS cash-outs to accounting system
- Complete month end procedures including balance sheet and 3rd party concessionaire reconciliations and statutory remittances as required
- Provide financial analysis support for all WSL venues utilizing POS system reporting tools including review of the Daily Sales and Labour Report
- Overseas all POS and e-commerce product set-ups including accounting, tax, and security management
- Update and maintain documentation for audit, cash and other relevant internal controls
- Complete sales report analysis for annual audit and compile year-end audit working papers
- Act as backup payroll and benefits coordinator when required including all duties associated with role if needed
- Champion and adhere to all WSL corporate policies, procedures, and contribute to the development of Finance Department policies and procedures
- Establish and maintain relationships with partner organizations, sharing ideas and resources to improve operational efficiencies
- Ensure an effective information flow between Finance Department and other WSL departments to ensure seamless delivery of initiatives
- Work collaboratively with all WSL departments and venues
- Support alignment and achievement of WSL’s vision, mission, values and goals
- Flexible to assist the team and WSL departments with other activities, duties or initiatives as assigned or required
- Act proactively in communicating the services provided and projects being undertaken by the Finance department

Position Requirements
Education/Experience
- Diploma, certificate, or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in business or accounting is required
- 3-5+ years practical accounting experience preferred
- Payroll certification an asset
- Understanding of BC Employment Standards Act, Canada Human Rights, WorkSafe BC regulations and legislation an asset
- Knowledge of Payworks online computerized system an asset
- Supervisory experience an asset
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License required

- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel (ability to use Pivot tables and generate Macros required), Word, and Outlook
