Maintenance Worker, Summer
Whistler Olympic Park is a world-class destination for outdoor recreation activities & Nordic sports, located just south of Whistler in the stunning Callaghan Valley. Established for the 2010 Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games, the Park’s incredible facilities are now enjoyed by both high-performance athletes and recreational guests alike.
Maintenance Worker, Summer duties include general building, trail, and landscape maintenance and capital project work at Whistler Olympic Park. Problem solving capabilities and self-direction are required to assist the team with other activities or initiatives as needed. Summer Shoulder season full time role requires the flexibility to work weekends and evenings.
Wage: $22.50 to $25.00 per hour - dependent on experience
Summer shoulder season: September 15 to October 31, 2025
Responsibilities
- Work with and under the direction of the Supervisor, Maintenance and Sport Operations
- Responsible for maintenance and repair of WOP infrastructure including facilities/buildings, trails/landscaping and equipment
- Act as Lead when required or directed to ensure tasks are completed in a safe effective manner
- Positively represent the organization’s mission, vision, and values
- Duties include but are not limited to painting, carpentry, cement work, plumbing, HVAC inspections, building upkeep, basic mechanical repairs, and related tasks
- Operate tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, saws, drills, and wrenches in a safe and responsible manner
- Handle all maintenance products in a safe manner and according to WHMIS guidelines
- Ensure a high standard in all finished work is maintained utilizing cost effective measures
- Foster a strong culture of health & safety; work with Human Resources and Safety to ensure all WorkSafe BC and Technical Safety BC requirements are met
- Liaise with external contractors and suppliers as directed
- Carry out Whistler Sport Legacies’ AIM philosophy: All Interactions Matter
- Assist team with other duties as assigned or needed
Position Requirements
Education/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Knowledge of WHMIS and Safe Work practices required
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License required
- Building trade experience an asset
- Carpentry, plumbing, and painting knowledge and experience including materials, tools, methods, and equipment an asset
- Experience operating skid steer equipment an asset
- Experience in outdoor environments an asset
- Snowmobile and ATV operation experience an advantage
- Knowledge of radio protocol

- Attention to detail necessary and safety conscious in all aspects of the role
- Must be comfortable working in confined spaces and elevated heights
- Strong organizational and time management skills with proven ability to prioritize projects/tasks in order to meet both internal organizational and customer needs
- Keen and can-do attitude
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Willingness to assist other team members within WSL as needed and requested
- Passion for exceptional customer service is essential
Physical Requirements
- Reliable transportation is needed as WOP is not serviced by transit
- Ability to perform physical labour on a daily basis
- Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and move up to 100 lbs
- Physically fit and able to work for periods of time standing, crouching and kneeling
