Whistler Olympic Park is a world-class destination for outdoor recreation activities & Nordic sports, located just south of Whistler in the stunning Callaghan Valley. Established for the 2010 Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games, the Park’s incredible facilities are now enjoyed by both high-performance athletes and recreational guests alike.

Dual role:  Guest Service Rep and Custodian

Guest Service Rep is the first point of contact with the Whistler Olympic Park guest.  This role provides excellent customer service to guests while assisting in their selection of product or service that most appropriately meets their needs.  In addition, they will endeavor to maximize sales by facilitating the promotion, sales, and booking of sport school instructional programs and drive business by targeting WSL products.  Guest Service Rep will be cross-trained in all guest service areas including retail and rental.  

Custodian is responsibilities include vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning of facility buildings including washrooms, and routine office cleaning at Whistler Olympic Park.  

Seasonal Full Time role requires the flexibility to work weekends.

Dual Role Start Wages:  Guest Service Rep $21.50 per hour - Custodian $25.00 per hour

Winter season 2025/2026 commences November 2025 to April 2026

Guest Service Rep

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a high level of product knowledge to promote and process rental and retail shop products, day-tickets, season passes and instructional programs
  • Achieve set targets for sales and customer satisfaction
  • Actively generate and follow up leads to finalize sales of all WSL products
  • Answer and assist all incoming telephone, e-mail and online inquiries
  • Ensure coordination of in-person bookings delivered through guest services to rental and other front line staff
  • Assist guest and client issues and/or complaints with empathy with a focus on guest satisfaction and use Supervisor/Manager support when necessary
  • Liaise with Sport School to ensure Sport Coaches are staffed optimally on a daily basis
  • Assist with operation of the rental/retail shop, instructional programs, or operational requirements such as snow clearing
  • Use point of sale processing system to process daily fees, tickets passes, invoices, programming, rental and retail sales
  • Generate Point-Of-Sale reports for Manager, Sport as requested
  • Process cash reconciliation while adhering to procedures at the end of each shift and submit to Supervisor, Guest Services for bank deposit with explanation of any over/short issues
  • Assist team with the execution of special events as required
  • Assist in general upkeep of Guest Service areas, including daily equipment set up, displays updating snow condition, trail and avalanche reporting
  • Ensure appropriate inventory of retail/rental items and maintain appropriate stock for ski service operations
  • Interact with volunteers to ensure their inclusion in department team
  • Foster a strong culture of health & safety; work with Human Resources and Safety to ensure all WorkSafeBC and Technical Safety BC requirements are met
  • Carry out Whistler Sport Legacies’ customer service philosophy AIM:  All Interactions Matter
  • Assist team with other duties as assigned or required

 

Position Requirements

Education/Experience

  • Accurate cash handling and reconciliation experience with a keen eye to detail required
  • Excellent telephone manner, etiquette and customer service skills required
  • Experience working in a customer service position preferred
  • Knowledge and appreciation of cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, biathlon, ski jumping, or sport and recreation facility operations preferred
  • Computer competence including scheduling and booking software preferred
  • Working knowledge of a ski rental and retail department an asset
  • POS System experience an asset
  • Working knowledge of all Social Media platforms an asset
  • Previous retail and merchandising experience an asset
  • Familiarity with Whistler and surrounding area an asset

  • Reliable winter transportation (WOP is not serviced by transit)

Custodian

Responsibilities

  • Clean floors, stairwells, washrooms, shower rooms, walls, ceilings, windows (inside and outside), furniture, carpets, window and door frames, black and white boards, and appliances
  • Sanitize and/or disinfect all touch areas throughout indoor spaces and all outdoor high touch areas
  • Manually clear snow from around buildings, walkways, stairs, and other areas, as directed
  • Waste and recycling sorting and removal
  • Inventory, restocking, and ordering supplies as required
  • Clean and perform minor and scheduled site maintenance and custodial equipment
  • Support WOP events as needed
  • Adhere to all safety procedures
  • Foster a strong culture of health and safety; work with Human Resources, and Safety to ensure that all WorkSafeBC and Technical Safety BC requirements are met
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and responsible manner
  • Champion and adhere to all WSL corporate policies and procedures
  • Interact with volunteers to ensure their inclusion in department team
  • Carry out Whistler Sport Legacies’ AIM philosophy:  All Interactions Matter
  • Assist the team with other duties as assigned or required

Position Requirements

Education/Experience

  • Previous custodial work and knowledge of custodial equipment and chemicals preferred
  • May be required to complete an RCMP background check
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License required
