Home to Olympic sport, high-performance training and public sliding experiences, WSC delivers sport programming, competitions and unforgettable guest experiences year-round. Guests have the opportunity to slide like an Olympian with no experience required.
We are currently hiring a Facility Operations Worker – Snow Clearing to help keep the Whistler Sliding Centre safe and accessible throughout the winter season. This is a hands-on, physically active role focused on snow removal and winter facility operations, including operating plow trucks and heavy equipment, clearing roads and pathways, and supporting general venue maintenance and events. Housing: Affordable staff housing available for Full-Time employees
Schedule: Schedule includes weekends and evenings
Location: Whistler, BC
Wage: $25.00 - $28.50 per hour based on experience
Start Date: October 20, 2026
What You’ll Do
- Operate snow plows, heavy equipment, trucks and all-terrain vehicles safely and responsibly.
- Clear snow from roads, pathways and access areas throughout the Whistler Sliding Centre.
- Complete manual snow clearing around buildings, structures and other areas that cannot be accessed by machinery.
- Install snow chains and adapt snow removal operations as weather and site conditions change.
- Help ensure safe access throughout the venue for colleagues, athletes, guests and operational vehicles.
- Complete daily equipment and machinery inspections and maintain detailed operating records.
- Identify, document and address safety hazards.
- Complete minor repairs and general maintenance work.
- Assist with ice maintenance and other winter facility operations.
- Identify and report equipment or infrastructure damage.
- Assist with transporting athletes, guests, sleds and equipment as required.
- Support shipping and receiving activities using appropriate machinery.
- Assist with vehicle fueling and other operational requirements.
- Maintain tools, equipment, inventory and work areas.
- Support facility bookings and events, including set-up and tear-down.

What You Bring
- 1–3 years of experience in machine operation and maintenance.
- Previous snow removal experience, particularly in a mountain environment, is preferred.
- Experience safely operating heavy equipment, plow trucks and related machinery.
- Hands-on knowledge of servicing and maintaining heavy equipment and attachments is preferred.
- Experience using small equipment and hand tools, including snow blowers, drills and saws.
- Ability to successfully complete competency assessments on required equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and a safety-conscious approach to your work.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative operations team.
- Flexibility and willingness to support other operational areas when needed.
- A valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License and driver’s abstract may be required.
- A commitment to providing excellent service to colleagues, athletes and guests.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in variable and challenging winter weather conditions.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform physically demanding manual snow clearing and winter maintenance duties.
