The Whistler Sliding Centre (WSC) is a world-class bobsleigh, skeleton and luge facility located above Whistler Village on the side of Blackcomb Mountain. Home to Olympic sport, high-performance training and public sliding experiences, WSC delivers sport programming, competitions and unforgettable guest experiences year-round. Guests have the opportunity to slide like an Olympian with no experience required.

We are currently hiring a Control and Timing Operator to support daily sport operations, guest programs and event delivery at the Whistler Sliding Centre. This role combines control tower operations, guest service, timing and event support in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.

Job Overview
Position: Control and Timing Operator
Department: Whistler Sliding Centre
Status: Seasonal, Full-Time 
Housing: Affordable staff housing available for Full-Time employees
Schedule: Schedule includes weekends, evenings and holidays
Location: Whistler, BC
Wage: $20.00–$22.50 per hour
Start Date: June 3, 2026

What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate track usage and communicate track clearances to athletes, coaches, staff and guests
  • Monitor and operate control and timing systems including cameras, radios, timing systems, scoreboards and public address systems
  • Support safe and efficient daily track operations
  • Prepare timing results and documentation for training sessions, public programs and competitions
  • Maintain communication with track crew and operational teams throughout daily activities
  • Deliver exceptional guest service and assist guests with registrations, bookings and program information
  • Process payments, merchandise sales and end-of-day cash reconciliation using a Point of Sale system
  • Support delivery of public sliding and sport experience programs
  • Assist with venue setup, operational readiness and general upkeep of indoor and outdoor spaces
  • Support domestic and international competitions, special events and race office operations
  • Record track statistics, incident tracking and operational documentation
  • Adhere to all operational and safety procedures including PPE requirements

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous guest service experience
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
  • Strong computer proficiency and attention to detail
  • Safety-conscious mindset with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Passion for exceptional customer service
  • Knowledge of radio protocol considered an asset
  • Knowledge of sliding sports, timing systems or race operations considered an asset
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License considered an asset
  • Must be a minimum of 19 years of age

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 70 lbs
