Whistler Sliding Centre: Free “Luge Open House” Events for Kids & Parents in October

Whistler, BC: On three Saturdays in October, children and youth aged 7-14 and their parents are invited to attend free and fun luge-themed get-togethers at the Whistler Sliding Centre. Participants will learn about the sport of luge and the winter programming, try some luge related activities and meet famous athletes.
The complimentary “Luge Open Houses” are offered on October 12, 19 and 26 from 9:30am to 11:30am. Kids and parents will meet the head coach and have an introduction to the “Learn to Slide” programming at the Whistler Sliding Centre, which offers options for all skill levels for children and youth. To learn more about the facility, there will be a track walk with the coach, followed by the opportunity to try “roller luge”, an introductory luge imitation activity on flat concrete. Participants will also get to meet some of Canada’s national team luge athletes, collect their autographs and hear their stories of how they got involved in the sport.
