Whistler, BC: Whistler Olympic Park invites all women to the 3rd annual “Women’s Ski Day” on Saturday, January 26, 2019. For only $10, women can register for a special day which includes a ski lesson and après. There will also be women-specific information clinics, a guided afternoon social ski and demos, as well as a 20% discount on Kari Traa apparel in the park’s retail shop. All female visitors will receive a 20% discount on day tickets for cross-country skiing and on ski rentals.

The day will start with an empowering welcome address by an Olympian. The morning lessons, suited for women 19 years and older, are led by top female instructors and are available for all ability levels from beginner to advanced skiers. Throughout the day, information sessions geared towards women will be offered, such as Body Health, The Importance of Layering and Equipment Selection. A social ski led by a female guide in the afternoon is then followed by an après session with mulled wine, snacks, gifts and prizes from Kari Traa and more ($10 registration fee applies to lessons and après; trail tickets and rentals not included).

“This is our third Women’s Ski Day, and the past events have shown that the all-female learning environment fosters skill development and community among women. It gives our female visitors the opportunity to connect with like-minded women and instructors, build up ski skills and find future ski partners”, explains Jennifer DeMunck, Marketing Specialist at Whistler Olympic Park. Women’s Ski Day is organized with the support of Kari Traa, Whistler Cooks and Coast Outdoors.

Pre-registration is required for the lesson & après segments as spaces are limited, registration is possible by phone at 604-964-0059, or on site at Guest Services. Those that cannot participate in the lesson/ après part will still receive the discounts on day ski trail tickets and rentals (without registration), also the information clinics and social ski do not require registration as they are first come/first serve.
