Join the Sea to Sky Moves ParticipACTION Challenge 2021 from June 1-30 & help the Sea to Sky win $100,000 as Canada’s most active community!
Sea to Sky Corridor, BC: This June, the Sea to Sky MOVES Council invites all Sea to Sky residents to join the 2021 ParticipACTION Community Better Challenge! This Canada-wide physical activity challenge rallies communities to sit less and move more together, and log the most minutes of physical activity between June 1 and 30. Communities have a chance to win $100,000 to use for local physical literacy initiatives. In addition to helping the Sea to Sky win the national contest, individuals can win weekly local prizes, through sharing activity pictures or videos on social media and using the hashtag #s2smoves.
Everyone is welcome to join, either as a group (schools, sport clubs, community organizations, businesses) or as individuals. Every kind of physical activity counts towards the challenge. All participants need to do is be active through the month of June, and track/submit their active minutes.
Tracking can happen through the ParticipACTION app or by submitting weekly activity minute tallies directly to the Sea to Sky MOVES Council. Every active minute tracked by residents of Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton (according to postal codes) between June 1 and 30 counts towards the Sea to Sky's total score.
More information on the challenge and how to participate is available here and here.
