The Whistler Sliding Centre's Passenger Bobsleigh Experience is one of Whistler's most unique activities! No previous experience is required. After an orientation, you will slide in a real bobsleigh, driven by a trained pilot. You and your team will race through ten twists and turns at speeds of 125+ km/hr and feel the acceleration of up to 4 g-forces. The Whistler Sliding Centre is the only place in Canada where public can try bobsleigh and slide like an Olympian. Passenger Bobsleigh runs rain, snow or shine so it’s the perfect addition to your time in Whistler, whatever the weather.
Available again in winter 2021/22
We are committed to providing the safest possible experience for our guests in times of COVID-19. The Passenger Bobsleigh experience has been slightly modified to adhere to current health & safety policies & recommendations to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Riding in a bobsleigh involves close proximity to fellow passengers. To be compliant with COVID-19 safety measures at all times, all guests and pilots will wear masks and balaclavas (free for guests) under their helmets. Activity staff will wear masks and gloves where necessary.
Guests on the same booking are considered a “COVID-19 bubble”, and we will ensure you ride together in one sled with no other individuals, except your pilot.

What to Expect?
Your Passenger Bobsleigh Experience will begin with an orientation about your ride and track etiquette. After the orientation, you will be shuttled to your start position about two thirds up the track, where you will be fitted with a helmet. You will meet your pilot, and with the assistance of the track crew, be seated in the sled and go through the final safety checks. Listen as your team’s names will be announced on the big speakers! Once your sled gets the green light, track crew will give your sled a push, and the control tower will announce “bobsleigh in track”! As you will accelerate down the track, lean into the corners to assist your steering pilot in reaching top speeds of 125+ km/hr in the final corner. The uphill outrun will slow you to a stop at the finish dock, where the track crew will assist you to exit the sled. Line up for your commemorative photo, and take the shuttle back to Guest Services.
