Skeleton Foundation Schools
Youth and adults (ages 14+) that want to acquire the in-depth skills needed to race on a skeleton sled can enroll in the Skeleton Foundation Schools. Sessions run weekly from late November to March. The program is available either in a weekly format (4 sessions on consecutive weekends), or in a block format over four consecutive days.
During the school, the basic skills needed to steer a skeleton sled are taught in the classroom and practiced on the ice. Over the course of the four sessions, athletes develop and refine their skills as they move to higher start heights on the track (read more about our coaches here).
After completing a full four-session school, athletes can continue attending the weekly foundation sessions, and/or are encouraged to move up and join the Skeleton Progression Camps to further refine their skills and eventually move to the top of the Whistler track.
