Early Season Athlete Training

Whistler Olympic Park is pleased to announce the return of “Callaghan Gold” for pre-season Nordic training opportunities in fall 2018!

In its fourth year, Callaghan Gold is a cross-country ski trail built using approximately 10,000 cubic meters of stored snow from the 2017-2018 season, and is approximately 1.5 km in length. The trail is designed for athlete/high performance team training programs, and includes access to the biathlon range. The trail is scheduled to be open from October 27 to November 21, 2018.

Interested clubs, provincial and national teams/coaches can find out more about Callaghan Gold, and book their pre-season training sessions, from Nadine Steenhoek, Manager Sport and Programs (email or phone 604-964-0068). Coaches/athletes are advised to submit their booking requests early to reserve their desired training dates.

Public Access

Although Callaghan Gold is primarily designed for early athlete training, Whistler Olympic Park is offering trail access to the public on select days before the official start of the 2018/2019 winter season:

Who Intermediate cross country Skiers – not recommended for beginners. Only cross country skiers will be permitted access through the gate once a trail ticket has been purchased. The park remains closed to all other individuals and activities including spectating.
Cost

$15 per person. Season Passes are not valid for Callaghan Gold.
All skiers must purchase a valid trail ticket at the gate.
