Whistler's Nordic venues as well as their affiliated partner facilities are state-of-the-art training grounds of Olympic standard. They are open to athletes of all Nordic disciplines and all levels, winter and summer, for on-snow and dryland training camps, club training or discipline-specific training in beautiful Whistler. The Whistler Athletes' Centre is located only 15 minutes from Whistler Olympic Park, at the south end of Whistler. It offers nightly accommodation in 79 comfortable rooms for athletes and sport teams. With access to state-of-the-art strength and conditioning resources, multi-purpose rooms, meeting spaces, storage and direct access to recreational trails, lakes & more, the Whistler Athletes’ Centre is the perfect home base for training and competition stays. Nordic Training / Whistler Olympic Park
Whistler Olympic Park offers offers year-round training opportunities for Nordic athletes. In the winter, athletes have access to close to 90 kilometres of beginner to expert cross-country ski trails (with pre-season snow access in fall on the "Callaghan Gold" trail, made out of natural snow from the previous season), an internationally sanctioned biathlon range, four jumping hills (HS 20, HS 40, HS 106 & HS140), storage and wax facilities and a full-service Day Lodge. For summer training, the Park offers a paved roller ski network, biathlon range access, and natural trails which make for a perfect dry-land training environment. Read more here
High Performance Training Centre
Available exclusively for targeted Canadian athletes, Canadian Sport Institute Pacific's High Performance Training Centre features a 4,000 sq. ft. strength and conditioning gym, a 5,000 sq. ft. gymnastics hall, recovery and regeneration rooms, change and shower facilities, exercise physiology testing room and administrative offices. Eligible Canadian National and Provincial athletes and teams can book directly with CSI-Pacific, via email to Shannon McGinnis. There is also a 1,300 sq. ft. multi-purpose room available for rent (see info below for the "Performance Hub").
Multi-Sport & Dryland Training in the "Performance HUB"
The Performance Hub is a well-equipped flex space/multipurpose room on the second floor of the Whistler Athletes' Centre's High Performance Training Centre in Cheakamus, available for full-day, half-day and hourly bookings, for dryland training, testing, meetings, workshops and group fitness classes. Whistler Sport Legacies' Sport Services team is your personal training concierge during your stay at the Whistler Athletes' Centre. Arranging catering, gym access for training and testing, wellness and physio appointments, extracurricular activities or meeting room bookings, the Sport Services team is exclusively dedicated to making your training and competition life in Whistler easier.
