Shuttle Bus Driver / Guest Service Host, Summer is a varied position that includes vehicle safety inspections, safe guest pick-up / drop-off and Guest Service Host responsibilities associated with the Summer Bobsleigh Experience program. Seasonal part time role requires flexibility to work weekends and evenings
Responsibilities
Shuttle Bus Driver
- Safely drive WSL shuttle bus as directed
- Provide guests with a verbal informative overview of WSL and in particular WSC (script will be provided) while transporting guests
- Perform daily checks including pre start up inspections, fueling procedures, shut down and post operational procedures including documentation regarding vehicle maintenance per established protocols
- Assist with the execution of special events as required
- Adhere to all safety, operating and maintenance procedures
- Perform daily sweep/care and maintenance of vehicle
- Interact with guests to provide high level of customer service
- Foster a strong culture of health & safety; work with Human Resources and Safety to ensure all WorkSafeBC and Technical Safety BC requirements are met

- Assist team with other duties as assigned or required
Guest Service Host, Summer
- Interact with guests to provide high level of customer service
- Greet guests and assist them to register for the Summer Bobsleigh Experience program
- Work on a rotation with the Guest Service team in all positions within the Summer Bobsleigh Experience program – duties may include:
- Gather and process participant information and waivers
- Equipment safety inspections, e.g., helmets
- Lead program safety presentation
- Maintain radio communications with Control Tower
- Shuttle/walk participants to start and return
- Safely unload sled into ready position
- Safely load guests into sled
- Recap safety components and final check of guest equipment and comfort level
- Assist pilots at Finish Dock, and assist guests to unload safely
- Safely load sled onto truck
- Track maintenance, as assigned
- Process public sliding information requests and bookings by phone and/or email and send confirmations as directed
- Use a Point of Sale system to process rides and merchandise payments and process end of day cash reconciliation as directed
- Track merchandise inventory and request reordering from Manager / Supervisor
- Assist in general up-keep of the Guest Services areas, including the daily set up of equipment and displays indoors and outdoors
- Proactively continue to evolve the Sport and Guest Services department to exceed the expectations of our guests
- Safely operate a sled truck to transport sleds on venue
- Adhere to a high degree of personal hygiene, and also participation in general upkeep and cleanliness of venue/department/work or common area is expected
- This position is a prerequisite for the Pilot / Guest Service Host, Summer role
- Adhere to all safety standards as outlined by WSL
- Adhere to the Summer Bobsleigh Experience program procedures and protocols

Position Requirements
Education/Experience
- Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license required
- Class 4 Unrestricted BC Driver’s License required
- Clean Driver’s Abstract and accident history required
- Previous Guest Service experience required
- Accurate cash handling and reconciliation experience with a keen eye to detail required
- Satisfactory criminal record check is mandatory prior to commencement of employment
- 1- 2 years commercial driving experience including extreme winter driving experience preferred
- Knowledge of the Whistler Sliding Centre venue and sliding sports an asset

- Experience driving on mountain roads is mandatory
- Ability to establish quick rapport to build relationships and network
