Park Host

Whistler Olympic Park is a world-class destination for outdoor recreation activities & Nordic sports, located just south of Whistler in the stunning Callaghan Valley. Established for the 2010 Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games, the Park’s incredible facilities are now enjoyed by both high-performance athletes and recreational guests alike.

Park Host is integral to ensuring the campground and associated facilities at Whistler Olympic Park are optimum for an exceptional guest experience.  Seasonal role requires the flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

Ideal energetic, organized and self-directed person or couple will live-in our full service campground, including Wi-Fi. 

RV will be provided for living accommodation or in approved personal RV.

Responsibilities

Operations

• General maintenance ensuring campground, park and facilities are optimum
• After hours and overnight response relating to guest issues
• Carry out nightly campground inspections
• Organize, confirm and process guest check-in / out and adapt for changes as required
• Secure payment, verifying and adjusting billing as needed
• Complete cashier and closing reports, counting and securing cash at end of shift
• Cleaning, restocking and general maintenance of public common areas, bathrooms and laundry
• Maintain garbage and recycling collection ensuring site cleanliness and animal resistance
• Communicate issues as required to staff or Manager
• Follow and communicate to guests WOP’s wildlife management program
• Perform routine campsite, park and facility inspections ensuring cleanliness and attractant amenities are at standards required for the Park’s bear and wildlife management program
• Uniform required at all times for visual identification to guests
• Support other operational colleagues when required
• Landscaping and grounds maintenance

Safety

• Adhere to WorkSafeBC, Technical Safety BC and applicable governing agency’s safety regulations
• Assist Managers in development and enforcement of safety procedures
• Implement the WOP fire management plan related to campfires
• Operate all equipment in a safe and responsible manner
• Respond to emergency situations, resolving immediate safety and/or operational concerns to ensure minimal work interruption and safe operations

Customer Service and Culture

• Share and communicate park usage rules and regulations with guests and ensure compliance when required
• Positive representative of Whistler Sport Legacies, both internally and externally
• Respond to guest inquiries and concerns
• Liaise and cross-share information with WOP teams
• Take personal accountability and responsibility for actions, and take initiative to find creative solutions to problems or issues
• Resolve conflicts effectively and efficiently in a professional manner
• Champion and adhere to all WSL corporate policies and procedures
• Carry out Whistler Sport Legacies’ AIM philosophy:  All Interactions Matter
• Assist the team with other duties as assigned or required

Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Previous caretaker, campground, parks and outdoor experience an asset
• Satisfactory criminal record check required
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License required
• Occupational First Aid Level 1 an asset
