Human Resource Generalist

Human Resource Generalist supports the day-to-day administration and implementation of HR initiatives at Whistler Sport Legacies.  Key areas of support for the Regular Full Time role include offer letter preparation, onboarding, performance management, manager advisory, recruitment support, colleague engagement, and recognition while building colleague relations and culture based on organizational mission, vision and values. 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for day-to-day HR administration including offer letter preparation and legislation compliance
  • Assist colleagues with inquiries, questions, and information sharing
  • Prepare and maintain HR records, files (electronic and other), and transactions relating to colleague cycles including new hires, leaves, departures, orientation, onboarding and off-boarding
  • Assist recruitment initiatives including screening applicants, conducting interviews, presenting offers and providing candidates with timely communication and updates, when required
  • Carry-out recruitment initiatives and promotion including web and social media career postings and other acquisition or marketing techniques
  • Develop monthly recruiting metrics and practices to analyze for gaps, and develop innovative recruiting solutions while providing feedback for improvement
  • Liaise internally with Payroll and Benefits for seamless colleague service and delivery
  • Support venue volunteer recruitment and orientation sessions
  • Proactively act as employment brand ambassador internally and externally
  • Assist and support other HR initiatives including HR orientation sessions, engagement survey, performance management, reports, metrics, information sharing and communication etc., as required
  • Source, prepare, coordinate and deliver departmental training sessions and also various external training sessions as required
  • Coordinate colleague events as directed
  • Foster a strong culture of health and safety; work with Safety to ensure that all WorkSafe BC and Technical Safety BC requirements are being met
  • Maintain and update company policies and procedures as directed
  • Foster effective colleague relations and work environment including building a strong workplace culture, and supporting HR team efforts and initiatives
  • Lead by modeling WSL mission, vision and values
  • Flexible to work weekends and evenings as required
  • Champion all corporate policies and procedures
  • Carry out Whistler Sport Legacies’ customer service philosophy AIM:  All Interactions Matter
  • Assist team with other duties as assigned or required

Position Requirements

Education/Experience

  • Human Resources or Business Administration Diploma/Certificate
  • 2-3+ years’ HR generalist and recruitment experience
  • Relevant employment standards, and Human Rights regulations and legislation
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License

Skills

  • People oriented and capable to work in a dynamic team environment with varied departments/venues and diverse personalities
  • Strong MS office computer skills, records management, and document control
  • Handling sensitive personnel information confidentially and professionally required
  • Ability to perform in high pressure, multi-tasking environments independently and with little supervision
  • Proficient in developing and manipulating data bases, spreadsheet, and software applications
  • Resolve conflicts effectively and efficiently
  • Highly organized with careful attention to detail
  • Ability to be discrete, unbiased and maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively: written and verbal
  • Ability to listen and problem-solve including exercising sound judgment
