School Program "Ski S’Kool"
Once again this winter Whistler Olympic Park is offering the Ski S’Kool program to elementary school students throughout the Sea to Sky Corridor. As in previous years the students will receive instruction from certified instructors on a 1 to 8 ratio in both Nordic disciplines, skate and classic.
- The cost of the program in the 2016/2017 season is $18.00 per student per visit. Each class is limited to 2 visits to allow for more students to take part in the program.
- Whistler Olympic Park is equipped to accommodate up to 75 - 80 students per day, ideally from varying grades (i.e. 2 or 3 classes – grades 3 with grades 5 or grades 4 with grades 6 or 7) to accommodate available ski equipment.
- Dates available are December 5 to 16, January 3 to March 17 (excluding Pro D days and holidays).
- Grade 3 and grade 5 classes have the first opportunity to book 2 visits per class before the program is opened up to other classes. Bookings are open only to grade 3 and 5 classes until November 10th. Split classes (e.g. grade 3/4, 4/5, 5/6 etc.) are included in the first booking period. After November 10th, bookings can be made for all other grades from all schools in the Sea to Sky Corridor. After December 1st the bookings will be opened up to Vancouver area schools.
To submit a booking request or inquiry, contact Nadine Steenhoek, Manager Sport and Programs by email. Requests should include the first and second choice for each visit (maximum 2 per class), number of students, grade(s), and contact information (teacher name, phone number, email). Teachers will be contacted to confirm numbers prior to each visit.
