Whistler Olympic Park Open December 7th on Limited Terrain

Thursday, December 5, 2013

Whistler, BC: While Nordic skiers anxiously await new snow, staff at Whistler Olympic Park have been making it! We are pleased to open for limited Nordic skiing on approximately 1 km of trail, thanks to cool temperatures and our Olympic ski jump snow making system. While the loop is not long, the conditions are great!

There isn’t enough snow in the woods for snowshoeing yet, but the toboggan hill is open for family fun. And our “Experience Biathlon” program is offered on Saturday’s and Sunday’s from noon to 1pm for $20.

Early season day rates are in effect …adult $10, child/youth $5, family $25, and tobogganing and general park access is $10 per car.

Private lessons are offered by request, and on Saturday and Sunday, our Snow School is offering a special “Intro and Tune-up” group lesson for skate skiers at 10:00am and classic skiers at 2:00pm. This early season lesson is offered at $10.00 and is the perfect way to start your season …call Recreation & Sport Services at 604-964-0060 Ext. 2460 to book!

The Day Lodge is also open for season pass holders to pick-up their pass, and all visitors can enjoy a hot meal and beverage at the Brandywine Café, or check-out the new Totem Trading Post retail store.

The park will be open 8:30am to 4:30pm weekends, and 9:00am to 4:30pm midweek starting Saturday December 7th. Wednesday night skiing starts December 18th. We look forward to seeing you there!
