Whistler, BC – Ski Callaghan, the joint venture between Whistler Olympic Park and Callaghan Country Wilderness Adventures, will be celebrating BC Family Day on February 8 with a special offer: All day admission tickets for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, tobogganing and sightseeing will be 50% off. “Everybody is invited to come out, try our family friendly activities and enjoy playing in the snow”, says Tim Hope, Managing Director of Whistler Olympic Park.

Whether on cross-country skis or on snowshoes, visitors of all ages will be able to explore the Nordic ski area, with trails for all abilities from beginner to expert level. Lessons for cross-country skiing and biathlon are available throughout the whole long weekend, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Rental gear is available for both kids and adults, as well as free toboggans and helmet to play on the toboggan hill. Families should not forget to pack some marshmallows and take a break at the fire cauldron by the toboggan area.

A completely new sliding experience will be available at Whistler Olympic Park on the Family Day weekend: Baseboarding, a hybrid of the sport of skeleton, bodyboarding on snow, and old fashioned tobogganing, will get participants ages 8 and upwards excited. No experience is required, bookings for the activity can be made on site at the Guest Services desk, and discounts are available for families and locals.

Discounted admission tickets will be offered for cross-country skiing (youth 7-18 years $7.50, adults 19+ years $12.50, family 2 adults/2 youth $40), snowshoeing (youth 7-18 years $3.80, adults 19+ years $7.50, family 2 adults/2 youth $22.60) and tobogganing/sightseeing ($7.50 per carload). Children six and under get free access as always. The discounted tickets must be purchased on BC Family Day/February 8 at the ticket booths on site at Whistler Olympic Park, online purchases are not possible.
