Community Fitness Classes

Get Fit at the 'HUB' in a friendly, non-competitive environment!

Whistler residents and guests can now participate in a variety of fitness classes to suit busy schedules. Classes with high quality, certified instructors are available Mondays to Fridays, early mornings, afternoons and evenings.

Train in a friendly, non-competitive environment at the new multi-purpose gym space the Performance Hub' on the second floor of the Whistler Athletes’ Centre (Canadian Sport Institute operates the High Performance Gym for carded athletes on the first floor).

All training equipment is provided, such as Bosu, kettlebells, TRX straps, resistant bands and balls, balance boards, pilates balls, body bars, foam rollers, and plyometric soft box tops all heights, discs, hurdles, mats!

Cost for 1-time pass is $15, a 10- time pass is $100 plus tax. Passes can be purchased at the Front Desk of the Athletes’ Centre Lodge (1080 Legacy Way, building next to the 'Performance Hub').

Want to build your own class to reach your personal fitness goals? Want to bring your friends together for an early morning, mid-day or evening class? Only six participants are needed to form your custom-made class, on your desired day/time! Book with Tami Mitchell through email or phone at 604-964-0031.

CLASS DESCRIPTION:

  • TRX Suspension Training:
    The TRX Suspension Training is a workout system that uses body weight and gravity to allow you to perform hundreds of exercises. Whether training for elite performance or just starting out, the TRX will help you simultaneously develop strength, balance, flexibility and core stability. If you have never tried it, now’s your chance.
  • Spring Sports Workout:
    What every your Spring/ Summer sport is we will work out the muscles to ensure injury prevention and muscle balance. Class will be structured in a circuit atmosphere with multiple strength stations, starting out with cardio warm up and a stretch for cool down. All level’s welcome as the trainer will adjust to your fitness level.
  • Bun’s Leg’s Core and More…:
    Everything you want in a fitness class to work out all the important muscle groups to ensure you are feeling fit. The trainer will get you moving towards you feeling great inside your body. Class structure will be 10 mins dynamic warm up with cardio, 40 mins focus on strength and a 10 mins cool down. 
  • Parenthood Fitness:
    Bring your child to the class and you both can get a sweat on. All ages allowed, from car seat to teenager.  All exercise will be done with body weight and resistant equipment. Get a full body workout and be a role model for your child.

Class Descriptions

TRX Suspension Training ®

The TRX Suspension Training® is a workout system that uses body weight and gravity to allow you to perform hundreds of exercises. Whether training for elite performance or just starting out, the TRX will help you simultaneously develop strength, balance, flexibility and core stability. If you have never tired it, now’s your chance. TRX classes will involve other core body exercises using other body resistant equipment.

Spin and Strength

The use of spin bikes to get your cardio workout, as well as getting off the bike and doing strength training exercises with body resistant equipment, TRX®, body bars, kettle bells, BOSU® and medicine balls, working out all body muscles.

Cardio & Strength Circuit

The class will have a variety of exercises to build cardio endurance with the mix of strengthening exercises in a circuit format. Variety will increase your overall fitness level and ensure muscle balances. Each 60 min class will start with a warm up and end with a stretch.

TRX Mixer

Offers everything a TRX Suspension Training class has to offer with the inclusion of cardio and strength intervals. Using your body as the main source of resistance, this circuit style class uses the TRX straps and other equipment like the Bosu, spin bikes or weights.
